Harvest & Hammers 2026
October 5th-8th
Building a stronger community starts with people willing to lend a hand. Harvest & Hammers brings together individuals, businesses, friends, and neighbors of all experience levels to help build homes, create hope, and make a meaningful impact for families in northern Michigan.
You don’t need any construction experience—just a willingness to learn and help. Whether you’re swinging a hammer for the first time or already know your way around a toolbox, you’ll gain hands-on skills you can take home and use in your own life. Plus, you’ll be part of something bigger: building safe, affordable homes for families in our community.
Building Futures in Northern Michigan
By volunteering at Harvest & Hammers you’ll help build stability, opportunity, and hope for families in our community. Whether you’re an experienced builder or this is your first time on-site, you’ll work alongside fellow volunteers and Habitat staff to make a tangible difference. Every task completed on the build site helps move a family one step closer to achieving the dream of affordable homeownership.

Frequently asked questions
Is experience necessary?
No experience necessary. Volunteers work under the guidance of construction professionals, alongside other volunteers and future Habitat homeowners. Whether you are learning new skills or simply adding a few to your tool belt, this is a rewarding experience for all involved, and it improves the community that we share.
What will volunteers be building?
Spend the day building something that matters. Harvest & Hammers volunteers will work together to construct storage sheds for two Habitat homeowners, giving families an important extension of their home that adds convenience, functionality, and long-term value. It’s a rewarding experience where your efforts become something families can use every day. By helping build these sheds volunteers will learn a wide variety of construction skills they can carry with them long after the event!
Are there any sponsorship opportunities?
Yes, we have sponsorship opportunities for businesses and individuals! Each sponsorship will support the event and get your business name in front of our volunteers. For more information please reach out to [email protected]
