Who We Are
Northwest Michigan Habitat for Humanity, a 501(c)3 non-profit organization, is an affiliate of Habitat for Humanity International, serving Emmet and Charlevoix Counties. Since 1990, we have been dedicated to ensuring all residents have a safe place to call home by constructing, rehabilitating, and preserving homes, advocating for fair and just housing policies, and providing training and resources to help families improve their living conditions.
Northwest Michigan Habitat for Humanity is an equal opportunity housing provider, licensed builder, lender, and licensed retailer. Why Housing Matters
The need for affordable housing is substantial, and the profound impact it can have on families is indisputable. A safe, decent, and affordable home provides families and individuals in Emmet and Charlevoix counties, with the chance to achieve self-sufficiency and build brighter futures.
Trapped in relentless cycles of unpredictable rent increases, overcrowded living conditions, or limited access to land and affordable financing, the families served by Northwest Michigan Habitat For Humanity bear the constant weight of stress and uncertainty. This is why we are dedicated to building. When a family can break free from these cycles and establish a decent, affordable place to call home, everything can change for the better.
