Habitat for Humanity brings people together to build homes, communities and hope. Together with you, we share a vision of a world where everyone has a safe and decent place to live, and where housing poverty and homelessness are eliminated.
Northwest Michigan Habitat for Humanity is an affiliate of Habitat for Humanity International, a nonprofit, ecumenical Christian housing organization. Habitat for Humanity works in partnership with people in need to build decent, affordable housing. The houses then are sold to those in need at no profit and with no interest charged.

Habitat is happening!
We're moving forward in our mission to eliminate poverty housing in Emmet and Charlevoix Counties. In August, 2013, we will break ground on our 31st Partner Family Home. We're grateful to have the opportunity to plan and develop our first Habitat Multi-Lot Development on six acres of donated property within the Village of Alanson. With your help, we will continue to operate our large Emmet County ReStore and also open a smaller Charlevoix ReStore to better serve our community, promote recycling, and eliminate waste in our landfills. With your help, we'll continue to produce Energy Star Rated homes meeting HFHI standards for energy consumption and handicap accessibility!
Give the Gift of Shelter
Give a lasting gift to your loved one through Northwest Michigan Habitat for Humanity. Each gift you make helps a family in need of decent shelter. Consider that Habitat raises all their funds locally and receives no funding from Habitat for Humanity International. Your donation dollars work throughout Emmet and Charlevoix Counties to help fund new home construction, rehab homes, home weatherization projects, critical repairs, or ramps for families in need. Your donations are tax-deductible to the extent allowed by law and will be acknowledged with a letter you may use for those purposes. Gifts made on-line are safe, thanks to our secure-server capability and will be put to good use by Habitat. We take very seriously our responsibility to be wise stewards of funds entrusted to us. Since 1999, Northwest Michigan Habitat for Humanity has built 30 homes for those in need in Emmet and Charlevoix Counties. The ReStore sells gently used building materials, home appliances, housewares, and furniture that otherwise might end up in a landfill. Since 2007, revenue generated from the sale of items donated to the ReStore have helped to build 15 safe and affordable homes in our community.
